Tenai & Nick’s Relaxed Tasmanian Elopement

Tenai & Nick found me while searching for a Hobart Celebrant, and their first message told me everything I needed to know:

“We love the Stroll & Snap idea.
We’re looking for a quiet, no-fuss elopement.”

Stroll and Snap Elopement | Hobart Elopement Packages

After three years of being engaged, they decided it was time….. but not for a big traditional Tasmania wedding. No guest list politics. No figuring out where to park Uncle Bazza. No stress.

Just the two of them, slipping away for a secret Hobart elopement, with plans to throw a huge party back home on the farm once they’d told everyone.

Honestly….. the best way to do it.

Bonus points - it’s so much cheaper.

The Creative Team Behind This Tasmanian Elopement

For this one, I teamed up with the legendary duo at Love & Thunder, Marty and Nickki (behind the camera and content creation)….. between the two of them, they documented the entire two-hour Stroll & Snap experience.

And when I say documented….. I mean captured the energy, the movement, the in-between moments and laughter as we wandered around.

When couples book one of my Stroll & Snap elopement packages, they’re not just booking a Tasmanian celebrant….. they’re getting a carefully aligned team. People who understand how a strolling Hobart elopement works.

There’s no stiff posing, no awkward standing around. We move, explore, chase light and pivot if needed.

It’s relaxed and in the moment….. but also incredibly intentional.

Another bonus point – photographer and content creator = their two required legal witnesses (at no extra cost….. winning!)

Firmly in the laneway/graffiti/pub camp….. and it suited them perfectly. Colourful walls. Gritty textures. Personality everywhere.

But we also threw in a park stop, which gives their gallery a mix of different feels. That’s the beauty of a Tasmanian elopement like this….. one afternoon (or morning), multiple looks.

We loosely map the route before the day based on your preferences and image style. But it always stays super flexible. Weather, light, crowds, how you’re feeling….. we adjust as we go, because we want relaxed and easy with zero pressure.

The Meant-To-Be Moment

We chose a private graffiti laneway for the ceremony…..I shared their story (which began seventeen years ago working together), talked about Nick’s at-home proposal, just the two of them and Winnie the dog, and then made it official.

Because it’s Hobart….. and we can, we chose another quirky laneway for a few images…..funky, quiet and completely their style.

The moment they noticed!!!

Strolling along……one of the café signs in a lane read “Windy City.”

Which just happens to be the name of their farm.

Out of every laneway in Hobart….. there it was.

That’s the magic of a Hobart elopement. The little things you don’t plan somehow become the most meaningful.

What they said

“ Thank you so much! Wow, we can’t believe it’s all been and gone so quick.

Thank you for making our day so easy and stress free, we had a perfect day!

And very lucky with great weather!!

The content we received from Marty and Nikki’s is amazing! We are over the moon with it and can’t wait to see more of what’s to come.

The Stroll and Snap experience was great, and so perfect for us. We can’t thank you enough!!

Again, thank you so much. And when we have our wedding party you will definitely be getting an invite!!

Thanks for making our dream come true, Sue! You are amazing at what you do!! “

Strolling Through Hobart - Your Way

The route? That’s based entirely on you.

  • Some couples want historic sandstone buildings and classic city streets.

  • Some love Salamanca / Battery Point and maybe the wharf area.

  • Some are all about graffiti lanes, pubs and bar vibes.

  • Others prefer gardens and softer park energy. Or maybe they'd like a mix of everything!

Why I Love Being a Tasmania Marriage Celebrant

As a Tasmanian celebrant and marriage celebrant, I get to create ceremonies that feel real, personal and uncomplicated.

You can say your vows in a laneway, park, bar (so many choices), stroll through Salamanca and Battery Point, Wander the waterfront, Sit (& stroll) in a park, grab a quiet drink (or if noisy is your jam….. we Taswegians will deliver).

Then head out for a romantic “just married” dinner, before throwing the big party later when you get back home.

Tenai & Nick chose intentional over impressive (although let’s be honest….. it was still  (and they are) impressive).

Planning Your Own Tasmanian Elopement?

If the idea of a relaxed Hobart elopement - just the two of you, a camera, zero pressure, and….. well me of course 🙂 sounds like your kind of day… We should probably chat.

As a Tasmanian celebrant and marriage celebrant, I specialise in easy elopements that are simple, personal and beautifully considered — without the overwhelm of a big traditional Tasmania wedding.

Secret ceremony now + big party later = Best of both worlds.

If that’s your vibe, reach out. Tell me what you’re picturing. We’ll make it happen….. just the way you like it, at your pace, right here in Hobart.

P.S. Yes, I’ll help you keep it a secret.

What’s Included in a Stroll & Snap Elopement Package

There’s a little bit of logistics….. and a whole lot of “I’ve got you”:

  • Yes, I organise your photographer and bring everything together into one seamless two-hour experience - ceremony included. But it’s so much more than that.

  • Before the day, I map out a loose route based on where you’re staying in Hobart and the kind of images that are important to you and yours….. city streets, graffiti lanes, historic buildings, Salamanca, waterfront, Battery Point….. it’s all shaped around you.

  • On the day, we meet, check the weather/light/vibe, and then….. “let’s gooooo”. It’s flexible, relaxed, and we adjust as we move.

  • If you’re heading out to celebrate after, we can even finish by dropping you at the door (I have been known to give the venue a heads up 👏).

Want to elevate things? I can help organise -

  • hair

  • makeup

  • florals

  • mini cake

  • grazing board (hot tip - eat when you’re getting ready) and drinks

  • content creation

  • Or point you in the right direction with my trusted locals.

I’ll also organise -

  • Your two witnesses if needs be

  • Carry the bits and pieces (umbrellas included - this is Tasmania),

  • Make sure you can just stroll along, hands free, soaking it all in.

  • And sometimes….. there’s confetti. Because why not!

All you really need to do?

Show up. Hold hands (or not), and enjoy!

Meet me Tassie side 😊and let’s get you #hitchedbylush
