Sarah & Chris Eloped to Tasmania….. Finally!
Some love stories take a little longer to reach the “I do’s.”
For Sarah and Chris, it took four attempts before they were finally able to make it happen - and trust me….. It was Worth the Wait!

What They Wanted for Their Elopement
Their wish list was beautifully simple -
a legal ceremony
intimacy
a ring exchange
no personal vows
a bottle of Barossa Valley Port
Nothing big, nothing complicated….. a moment that felt real and relaxed.
So that's exactly what we created, nestled in a gorgeous bush setting at Fern Vale Cottage in Lenah Valley.
The Setting….. Quiet, Cosy & Completely Them
At the base of kunanyi/Mount Wellington in Hobart, this cosy cottage was ideal for their much-anticipated elopement.
Fairy lights sparkled, and the fire pit was toasty. With the two of them, so very present, the scene was perfect and very Tasmanian Bush centric.
A Moment You Could Feel
The part that still gets me…..
The way Chris looked at Sarah all afternoon?
It was pure, deep, and a magical “in the air” love moment.
Photographer Gi captured every bit of that energy, and I (and yes, the ever loyal – roadie hubby – rent a marriage witness “The Deft”!) just stood there soaking it all in.
It was one of those moments that made your heart skip a beat. You just knew this was how their wedding was meant to be.
A Little Extra Tassie Love on the Table
I arranged a lovely grazing box which came with Tasmanian sparkling, adding local flavour to their day.
I shared some cherries and blueberries grown in my garden, as well as some of my world famous rocky road from Christmas. Of course, they all joined the spread….. it would have been rude not to….. right?
Getting Ready — Relaxed & Easy

The After-Party
Sarah and Chris adore good food, great wine (and a cheeky vodka), and being anywhere near the water.
After a relaxed loved-up afternoon together, they celebrated in classic Tassie style. They enjoyed a Gourmet Seafood Tour from Tasmanian Wild Seafood Adventures.
Post-Elopement Bliss
Sarah and Chris said the whole day was “absolutely sensational” and worth every dollar.
They ate so much seafood that they practically rolled off the boat. It sounded like the perfect ending to their ideal Tasmanian elopement.
After Four Attempts, Their Perfect Day Arrived
Sarah and Chris finally got the intimate, meaningful, stress-free ceremony they were hoping for…..
just the two of them, in a place that felt right, with no fuss and no pressure.
It was relaxed
It was simple
It was fun, and
It was so them — and dare I say….. so celebrant me.
Here’s What They Said About Working With Me
“Where do we even start with how wonderful Sue is?! We had a planned elopement, just my fiancé and I, and coming from interstate we had no idea what we needed, other suppliers, or even things to do in Hobart. We found Sue and she made all of the planning so seamless, finding suppliers for us (who were also amazing), and planning our entire day.
Fast forward to the actual day and not only did we have Sue but also her husband as a witness, and what a cracking day was had. Sue is so relaxed, hilarious, heaps of fun, and just made the day so easy for us.
Sue’s communication was easy, the official things were done with ease, but she went above and beyond giving recommendations for tours and restaurants, organised our grazing platter for the day (and thoughtfully ensured our other suppliers were also catered for), even brought us cherries and blueberries from her garden, and did the dishes before she left!
We cannot recommend Sue highly enough — if you’re looking for a fun and down-to-earth celebrant who you can trust to take care of all the things so you don’t have to worry, then Sue is the person you need.”
Thinking About Eloping in Tasmania?….. Let’s Go!
When we team up, it becomes easy.
You enjoy a relaxed and meaningful experience. If you’d like….. I’ll handle the planning, coordination, and all the details. Those little touches will make the day feel just like you.
You just show up, take a breath, and enjoy the moment….. exactly as Sarah & Chris did.
